How to make an invoice here

  1. Choose invoice or estimate, and your trade. The trade loads the line items that work is usually billed on, priced on the unit it actually uses.
  2. Fill in who it is from and who it is to, then the quantity and rate for each line. Remove the lines that do not apply and add your own.
  3. Tap Download PDF. Your browser saves the document as a PDF. On iPhone, use Share, then Save to Files, or send it straight from the share sheet.

What an invoice needs to get paid

A unique invoice number, the date, the due date, your business name and contact details, the client's name, a line for each piece of work with its quantity and rate, and the total. Estimates add how long the price holds. The full checklist, including what changes for businesses registered for sales tax or VAT, is in what to include on an invoice, and the sending side is covered in how to invoice a client.

Invoice and estimate templates by trade

Each of these opens the same tool preset for that trade, alongside a filled-in example and a CSV you can keep.

Freelance work has its own worked example in the freelance invoice template.

Is this generator really free and private?

Yes. It is a single page that does its arithmetic and builds the PDF on your device. There is no server behind it to receive what you type, which is why there is nothing to sign up for. If you tick "remember my business details", your own name and contact line are kept in this browser only, so the next invoice starts filled in; client details are never kept.

What a browser page cannot do is remember who owes you. When you are invoicing every week, Keel does this on your iPhone: invoices, receipts and mileage in one place, stored encrypted on the phone with no account and no bank connection.
