Keel — Privacy

This policy covers the Keel: Invoice Maker & Receipts iOS app, operated by Ilura Technology OÜ ("we", "us"). The short version: your books never leave your device. Keel has no account system at all — there is nothing of yours on our side to protect, because nothing is sent.
What Keel stores
- Your invoices, clients, expenses, receipt photos, mileage log, and settings are stored locally on your device in the app's encrypted private database (protected by iOS Data Protection).
- Your ledger is append-only and cryptographically chained: entries are never silently altered, corrections are new entries, and Settings → Verify Ledger Integrity lets you check every entry on your own phone.
- Receipt photos are read on device — text recognition (Apple Vision) and the structuring of merchant, total, tax, and date (Apple's on-device intelligence) run on your iPhone. Images and recognized text are never uploaded, and nothing enters your books until you confirm it with the Stamp.
- Free-tier metering (how many invoices you drafted this month) is derived from your own local ledger — never reported anywhere.
The app contains no networking code — no servers of ours, no analytics, no advertising identifiers, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs. Under App Store privacy definitions it is classified as "Data Not Collected."
No account, ever
Keel has no sign-up, no login, and no email capture. The app has one owner: you. Everything it knows lives in your device's encrypted storage and in your own device backups.
Camera, Siri, notifications & the share sheet
The camera is used only to photograph receipts, and every photo is processed on device. Siri requests ("Who owes me money in Keel") are handled on device by the app; Siri itself is operated by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. Overdue-invoice reminders are local notifications scheduled on your phone — no push servers are involved. Sending an invoice PDF uses the iOS share sheet, so the document goes only where you choose to send it.
Export & deleting your data
Settings → Export My Books produces a single zip — every entry and every receipt — that is yours to keep anywhere you like. You can delete expenses and void invoices inside the app; deleting the app removes everything stored on the device.
Not tax advice
Keel organizes your records and applies published IRS mileage rates to your own entries; it does not provide tax, accounting, or legal advice. Review your figures with a qualified professional before filing.
This website
iluratechnology.com uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate page traffic, such as which pages are visited and which sources send visitors to the site. We do not use it to collect any app content, and we do not run advertising. Google Analytics may set cookies or similar identifiers and process technical data such as page URL, referrer, browser, device, and approximate location. Your light/dark theme choice is saved in your browser's local storage and never leaves it. Pages load their typefaces from Google Fonts, so your IP address is processed by Google to serve the font files. See Google's privacy policy.
Purchases
Any paid plan or subscription is processed entirely by Apple through your Apple Account. We never see your payment details. Manage or cancel anytime in Settings → Subscriptions on your device.
Correspondence
If you email us, we receive your address and message and keep them only as long as needed to help you. Ask and we delete the thread.
Your rights & contact
Ilura Technology OÜ (Tallinn, Estonia) is the data controller for the limited personal data described above (in practice, your correspondence with us and website analytics). Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of that data, and you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Questions about privacy?
